The NOX Corten steel mailbox has a warm and powerful appearance. This is due to the orange-brown color of the Corten steel, which forms through a natural layer of rust. Another name for Corten steel is weathering steel: weather conditions have a positive influence on this material.

Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. Upon exposure to the open air, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion. This gives the mailbox a long lifespan.

Products are delivered unrusted. The rusting process of Corten steel takes approximately 4-5 months, depending on weather conditions. Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rust. Owatrol protects the product and ensures that Corten steel no longer stains.

Corten Steel NOX Mailbox Important points to note

Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture between the packaging and the product are not enclosed. This can cause irregular rust stains.
We advise against using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km from a coastline.
During the rusting process, rust water may come off the product.
The warranty is void if you drill or grind in a manner that is not prescribed.
Due to the natural properties of Corten steel, slight deformations or discolorations may occur under the influence of weather and temperature. This is part of the nature of the material and is not covered by the warranty.
Clean annually by spraying off coarse dirt on the mailbox with tap water.
