What are hydro granules?

Hydro granules, also known as clay granules or hydro pellets, are an essential product for garden and houseplants. How much hydro granules do I need?

The amount of hydro granules you need depends on the size of the pot or container in which you want to use the granules and the plant you are going to care for. As a general guideline, you should fill the bottom of the pot at least halfway with hydro granules. This ensures good drainage and water retention.

For smaller pots (around 10-15 cm diameter), you need about 1 liter of hydro granules. For medium-sized pots (30-40 cm diameter), you can count on 3-5 liters of hydro granules. Large pots (more than 50 cm in diameter) may require 10 liters or more, depending on the size of the plant's root ball. It is important to distribute the hydro granules evenly across the bottom of the pot so that the roots have sufficient room to expand and absorb water. Do not forget that hydro granules can also be used for decorative purposes. You can place a layer of hydro granules on top of the bottom of the pot so that your plant does not come into direct contact with the granules, but still benefits from the advantages of good water circulation and drainage. However, it is essential that the amount of hydro granules is always proportionate to the size of the pot to give the roots sufficient breathing space and moisture.
