Our Corten steel water block is a unique ornament for gardens. Water bubbles up through the stainless steel fountain, featuring LED lighting in the top plate. The water then flows evenly down the sides of the block into the underground collection tank. This water is subsequently pumped back up. The LED lighting creates extra atmosphere in the dark.
The color of Corten steel is orange-brown, giving the water block a warm and powerful appearance. It forms through a natural layer of rust. Another name for Corten steel is weathering steel: weather conditions have a positive influence on the material.
Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outdoors, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion. This gives the water blocks a long lifespan.
SPECIFICATIONS:
- 5-year warranty (pumps 2-year warranty – LED lighting 1-year warranty).
- Includes LED lighting, pump, and fountain.
- Corten steel water blocks are wear-resistant, weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and durable.
- Standard material thickness of the Corten steel is 2 mm.
- Products are delivered unrusted. The rusting process of Corten steel takes approximately 4-5 months, depending on weather conditions.
- Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rust. Owatrol protects and ensures that the Corten steel no longer stains.
Important points to note:
- Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture between the packaging and the product is not trapped. This can cause irregular rust stains.
- The water features must be placed on a sturdy, level surface.
- We advise against using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km of a coastline.
- During the rusting process, rust water may come off the product.
- The warranty is void if you drill or grind in a manner not prescribed.
- The pH value of the water must be neutral (7) so that the material is not affected.
- The pump can become clogged if green waste enters the water block. They are easy to unscrew and clean. After cleaning the fountains, also check the pump for blockages. Optionally, a filter can be placed between the pump and the fountain.
- Clean annually by spraying coarse dirt off the product with tap water.
USE DURING FROST:
- Lower the water level to below the overflow pipe. This is approximately 10 cm below the rim. Note! The pump must remain submerged.
- Always unplug the unit during frost.
- We recommend a frost protector. This is available for purchase at garden centers or hardware stores.
