This corten steel planter gives gardens a powerful and warm appearance. This is due to the orange-brown color of the material, which forms through a natural layer of rust. Another name for Corten steel is weathering steel: weather conditions have a positive influence on this planter.
Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outdoors, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion. This gives the planter a long lifespan.
Corten Steel Planter SPECIFICATIONS:
- 5-year warranty.
- Corten steel planters are very strong, wear-resistant, weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and durable.
- Standard material thickness of the Corten steel is 1.5 or 2 mm.
- Supplied as a self-assembly product and can therefore also be placed around an already planted tree or plant.
- Includes bolts, nuts, and an assembly manual.
- Products are delivered unrusted. The rusting process of Corten steel takes approximately 4-5 months, depending on weather conditions.
- Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rust. Owatrol protects the planter and ensures that the Corten steel no longer stains.
Important points to note:
- Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture between the packaging and the product is not trapped. This can cause irregular rust stains.
- Ensure good drainage.
- Do not use hydro granules: these retain moisture.
- We advise against using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km from a coastline.
- During the rusting process, rust water may run off the product.
PLANTING ADVICE:
- Fill the planter with a layer of Ø35 mm sorting pebbles (approx. 10 cm).
- Place a water-permeable root barrier fabric over the pebbles.
- Cover the root barrier fabric with soil suitable for your type of planting.
