The Corten steel planter gives gardens a powerful and warm appearance. This is due to the orange-brown color of the material, which is formed by a natural layer of rust. Another name for Corten steel is weathering steel: weather conditions have a positive influence on this planter.

Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outdoors, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion. This gives the planter a long lifespan.

Important points to note:

• Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture between the packaging and the product is not trapped. This can cause irregular rust stains.
  
• Ensure good drainage.
  
• Do not use hydro granules: these retain moisture.
  
• We advise against using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km from a coastline.
  
• During the rusting process, rust water may run off the product.

Planting advice:

• Fill the planter with a layer of Ø35 mm sorting pebbles (approx. 10 cm).
  
• Lay a water-permeable weed control fabric over the pebbles.
  
• Cover the weed control fabric with soil suitable for your type of planting.
