Description
This traditional nest box with a rustic appearance and bitumen roof offers the Wren a good place to nest and helps maintain or restore populations of this bird species in an area. In winter, the nest box often serves as a good shelter for the birds against bad weather.
Place the nest box on a tree or wall, at a height of up to a maximum of 2 meters, in a well-hidden spot among dense bushes or ivy plants, in a quiet and somewhat sheltered location—so not directly in the sun or on the rainy side—with a clear flight path for the bird. Due to the birds' territory, hang the nest box at least 10 meters away from nest boxes intended for the same bird species and at least 3 meters away from bird feeders. Autumn is the best time to clean the nest box.
