De Astrantia major, ook wel bekend als Zeeuws knoopje, is een betoverende vaste plant die meteen de aandacht trekt met haar verfijnde, stervormige bloemen. De sierlijke bloemetjes – opgebouwd uit fijne schutbladen in tinten wit, roze of zachtrood – verschijnen van de vroege zomer tot diep in de nazomer en brengen een subtiele, romantische sfeer in de tuin. Deze sterke, veelzijdige plant doet het uitstekend in halfschaduw tot zon en past perfect in borders, cottage tuinen en natuurlijke beplantingen. Daarnaast trekt Astrantia major bijen en vlinders aan, wat bijdraagt aan een levendige en gezonde tuin.
