Lythrum salicaria, also known as loosestrife, is a vigorous, upright-growing perennial with long flower spikes full of bright pink to purple flowers in summer. This native plant is ideal for moist borders, banks, and natural gardens, where it provides long-lasting color and a natural appearance. Lythrum salicaria prefers a sunny location and moist to wet soil, is low-maintenance, and very hardy. Furthermore, it is very attractive to bees, butterflies, and other pollinators.
