The Round Corten Steel Fire Table turns orange-brown over time. Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron to which copper, phosphorus, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outdoors, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural layer of rust provides protection against further corrosion.
Important points to note:
- Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture between the packaging and the product is not trapped. This can cause irregular spots.
- Always place the fire table on a flat, stable surface.
- Products are delivered unrusted. The rusting process of the Corten steel takes approximately 4-5 months, depending on weather conditions. With our rust accelerator, you can make your product rust faster.
- Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rusting through. Owatrol protects the material and ensures it no longer stains.
- We advise against using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km from a coastline.
- During the rusting process, rust water may run off the product.
- The warranty is void if you drill or grind into the material in a manner not prescribed.
- Clean annually by spraying coarse dirt off the product with tap water.
