Corten Steel BBQ - Plancha Cosa Points to Consider

• It is best to cook on the griddle with vegetable oil with a high smoke point, such as peanut oil or sunflower oil.
• The griddle functions best after it has been used once or twice and the oil has burned into the plate. Cooking on the griddle becomes easier after this ‘seasoning’ and protects the plate against rust when not in use. You can easily scrape the griddle clean with oil and a spatula. By applying a final layer of oil to the griddle before applying the product, you prevent rust. Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture is not trapped between the packaging and the product. This can cause stains that are difficult to remove. Ensure a flat, sturdy (vibrated) surface. If this is not done carefully, tension may build up in the product. This tension can result in damage to the product. We advise against using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km of a coastline. During the rusting process of Corten steel, rust water may run off the product. Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rusting through. Owatrol protects the product and ensures that the Corten steel no longer leaves marks.
