Description
The modern corten steel pond is available in both square and rectangular shapes. The still water in the pond creates a soothing atmosphere in the garden.
Can be combined with a corten steel pond wall.
Features
Soothing and atmospheric: our corten steel pond is the perfect addition to gardens. The pond is suitable for planting and housing fish. This makes the pond a very dynamic part of the garden. Because we coat the inside of our corten steel ponds with polyurea, the pond does not rust through. Additionally, our ponds are equipped with a fixed overflow pipe and can optionally be ordered with through-holes. You can choose between through-holes on the short or long side.
The color of Corten steel is orange-brown and is formed by a natural layer of rust. Another name for Corten steel is weathering steel: weather conditions have a positive influence on the material.
Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outdoors, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion. As a result, the ponds have a long lifespan.
Specifications
- 5-year warranty.
- Customization is possible.
- The inside is coated in black with polyurea. This ensures that the pond liner does not rust when water collects in it.
- Corten steel ponds are wear-resistant, weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and durable.
- The standard material thickness of the Corten steel is 3 mm.
- Products are delivered unrusted. The rusting process of Corten steel takes approximately 4-5 months, depending on weather conditions.
- Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rust. Owatrol protects and ensures that the Corten steel no longer stains.
Points to note
- Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture between the packaging and the product is not trapped. This can cause irregular rust stains.
- We advise against using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km of a coastline.
- During the rusting process, rust water may come off the product.
- The warranty will be voided if you drill or grind in a manner not prescribed.
- The pH value of the water must be neutral (7) so that the material is not affected.
- Clean annually by spraying coarse dirt off the product with tap water.
Use in frost
- Lower the water level to below the overflow pipe. This is approximately 10 cm below the rim. Note! The pump must remain submerged.
- Always unplug the pump in frost.
- We recommend an anti-frost device. This is for sale at garden centers or hardware stores.
