Due to increasing climate change, rain showers are becoming increasingly heavy, putting the sewer system under severe pressure. The Tree Waterdrain Edges® offer a sustainable solution: they buffer rainwater locally in green areas, relieving the sewer system and ensuring the stored water remains available for plants during dry periods. This combines functional rainwater harvesting with a green, future-proof outdoor space. But that is not all. Trees in public spaces often have a lot to endure: from pedestrian traffic to severe weather conditions. The Tree Waterdrain Edges® offer an aesthetic and protective finish around trees. They literally and figuratively give the tree a stage, thereby limiting external influences. Moreover, the edges combine perfectly with our tree grates for a complete, neat finish. Features Material: Corten steelCorten steel (weathering steel) is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron, copper, and chromium, among other things. When exposed to the outdoors, it forms a characteristic brown-orange rust layer, which simultaneously offers protection against further corrosion. This creates a natural appearance with an extremely long lifespan. Please note: products are delivered unrusted. By installing a tree grate, you not only create a neat and well-maintained appearance in the outdoor space, but also a safe and tree-friendly environment. The coated steel tree grate offers optimal protection for both pedestrians and trees. Safety and Protection Tree grates ensure that the ground level around trees remains even. This prevents dangerous situations such as tripping or uneven paving. At the same time, they protect the trunk and roots of the tree from damage caused by traffic or maintenance work. Healthy Growth through Optimal Water and Air Supply Thanks to the open design of the grid, the roots receive sufficient water and oxygen. This contributes to healthy and strong tree growth. The underlying frame distributes the load and prevents damage to the underground root structure. Please note: Do not forget to order your underlying frame along with it for correct installation and optimal operation. High-Quality Coated Steel Our tree grates are manufactured from thick-walled rolled steel. By hot-dip galvanizing the steel and applying a 2-layer powder coating, they are resistant to the elements and visually appealing. We supply these as standard in RAL 7021 (black-grey), but other RAL colours are available on request.
