With our Corten steel tree grates, you choose a safe and sustainable solution for trees in public spaces. Because the ground level around the tree remains the same, tripping hazards and other unsafe situations are prevented. At the same time, the grate protects the tree: the trunk and roots remain undamaged and healthy. Thanks to the open structure, the root system receives sufficient access to water and oxygen, which is essential for the growth of the tree. The optional underlying frame provides extra load-bearing capacity and prevents strain and damage to the root system. Features: Material: Thick-walled Corten steel – strong, weather-resistant, and suitable for long-term use. Products are delivered unrusted and will develop the characteristic rust color over time. Load class: EN-1433, standard class A (provided it is correctly mounted on a load-bearing substrate such as a sand bed, crushed stone, or gravel). Foundation: To be placed on a foundation below ground level. Customization possible: We offer a wide selection of patterns. Thanks to our own production, we can turn things around quickly and, if desired, produce tree grates based on your specific dimensions or graphic design.

Due to increasing climate change, rain showers are becoming increasingly heavy, putting the sewer system under severe pressure. The Tree Waterdrain Edges® offer a sustainable solution: they buffer rainwater locally in green areas, relieving the sewer system and ensuring the stored water remains available for plants during dry periods. This combines functional rainwater harvesting with a green, future-proof outdoor space. But that is not all. Trees in public spaces often have a lot to endure: from pedestrian traffic to severe weather conditions. The Tree Waterdrain Edges® offer an aesthetic and protective finish around trees. They literally and figuratively give the tree a stage, thereby limiting external influences. Moreover, the edges combine perfectly with our tree grates for a complete, neat finish. Features Material: Corten steelCorten steel (weathering steel) is a high-quality metal alloy consisting of iron, copper, and chromium, among other things. When exposed to the outdoors, it forms a characteristic brown-orange rust layer, which simultaneously offers protection against further corrosion. This creates a natural appearance with an extremely long lifespan. Please note: products are delivered unrusted. Water buffering & Protection in oneSupports drainage, protects the tree, and contributes to a greener environment. Aesthetic added valueEnsures a neat and professional finish for tree beds in urban or landscape projects. Important Points to consider To be installed on a foundation below ground level Tree grates and tree brackets available from us. This planter with straight angles belongs in gardens with clean lines. The sleek double-folded edge finish gives the whole piece more substance. This corten steel planter is also extremely useful as a partition in hospitality establishments. Corten Steel Planter Features This corten steel planter gives gardens a powerful and warm appearance. This is due to the orange-brown color of the material, which forms through a natural layer of rust. Another name for Corten steel is weathering steel: weather conditions have a positive influence on this planter. Corten steel is a metal alloy consisting of iron, to which copper, phosphorus, silicon, nickel, and chromium have been added. When exposed to the outdoors, the material becomes covered with a protective layer of rust. This natural rust layer provides protection against further corrosion. As a result, the planter has a long lifespan. Corten Steel Planter Specifications: 5-year warranty. Corten steel planters are very strong, wear-resistant, weather-resistant, low-maintenance, and durable. Includes feet and drainage holes. This ensures that the planter floats slightly above the ground (15 mm) and has optimal drainage. Standard material thickness of the Corten steel is 2 mm. Other material thicknesses are also possible. Customization is possible. Products are delivered unrusted. The rusting process of Corten steel takes approximately 4-5 months, depending on weather conditions. Rust can be fixed by applying Owatrol. This is a penetrating anti-rust agent that forms a protective layer against rust. Owatrol protects the planter and ensures that the Corten steel no longer stains. Important points to note: Products must be unpacked immediately upon receipt so that any moisture between the packaging and the product is not trapped. This can cause irregular rust stains. Ensure proper drainage. Do not use an overflow pipe; no excess water should remain in the Corten steel planter. The material can then rust through due to a combination of oxygen and soil. Do not use hydro granules: these retain moisture. We advise against using Corten steel within a radius of 2 km from a coastline. During the rusting process, rust water may run off the product. The warranty is void if you drill or grind in a manner that is not prescribed. PLANTING ADVICE: Provide the soil with a layer of Ø35 mm sorting pebbles (approx. 10 cm). Lay a water-permeable root barrier fabric over the pebbles. Cover the root barrier fabric with soil suitable for your type of planting. Do not use an overflow pipe; No water should be allowed to remain in the Corten steel planter.
