De Yucca Filifera Australis, een winterharde yucca-variant, heeft een zonnige standplaats nodig en verdraagt goed direct zonlicht. Geef de plant water als de bovenste laag van de grond droog is, meestal eens per week in de zomer en minder vaak in de winter. Zorg voor een goed doorlatende pot en vermijd stilstaand water om wortelrot te voorkomen. Bemest de plant tijdens het groeiseizoen eens per maand met een verdunde kamerplantenmeststof.
